Who we are

Community innovative Programs Outreach (CIPO) is a community based organisation registered in line with the laws of Kenya as such. The Organisation is based in Nairobi. It is headed by an executive director who is also the official link between the Organisation and all other external legal entities on official matters. The executive is also the leader of the Organisation and plays a coordination role in the implementation of all programs of the Organiation.

Our Vision

The vision of CIPO is a world in which pursuit of economic and technological advancement is consistent with preservation of nature for future generations and life on the planet.

Goal

To empower communities for engagement in livelihood activities for sustainable development including on adaptation to, and mitigation against effects of climate change

Mission

To contribute to national and global effort on sustainable development as well as mitigation on effects of global warming.

What we do

We work with communities to advance their diverse development agendas with greater focus on adaptation to, and mitigation actions on climate change as is enshrined under the United Nations Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and its protocols. We also inspire communities for engagements in livelihood initiatives that promote sustainable development, especially with regard to the UN 2030 Agenda/Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Consistent with the above frameworks, our three main programs are:

Where we work

At the present, our activities are confined within the county of Nakuru in the Rift Valley region of Kenya. The activities extend to all the sub-counties. The Organisation has plans to take its work to more counties in the country, gradually, and eventually reaching all the 47 counties.

Women and Youth

We are open to collaborating with willing partners whose activities are consistent with our goals and objectives. Our primary partners are organised groups within communities. They include, but are not limited to, farmers’ groups, women groups, youth groups,
